The story of how AVCnet got started.

Hi, I’m Amy, founder of AVCnet and an active local reviewer.

I was sitting in my car, several thousand dollars poorer and too scared to even drive home after being ripped off by a scam artist. I thought, “I wish there were a website where people could warn others of bad service! There needs to be some way for people to get their money back!”

AVCnet was created to fill a need: A site for people who are tired of putting up with bad customer service, terrible products, and companies who treat them poorly.

The Urge to create a better platform for your voice to be heard

After my not-so-great experience at the local mechanic shop, I got home and started looking for places where I could share my story. I found plenty of opportunities to complain, but none of them seemed trustworthy. That’s when I made a decision to start my own site in order to create a place where people can have an honest conversation about their experiences—a safe space for open and honest dialogue.

I knew that there were others who, like I did, wanted to share their stories. But they couldn’t find the time or motivation to go out and find those companies on their own.

So I took matters into my own hands and made it easy for them by creating one central place where people can simply look up a company to see what other people have been saying about them. It had to be quick and accessible from anywhere in the world.

The only service website that really cares about your customer needs is AVCnet. Forget about the long forms, automated phone menus and unclear support websites. The AVCnet difference boils down to you, our customer.

AVCnet contains more than 20,000 complaints and contact information for 500 companies. These submissions come from everyday people who deal with the same problems you do: cable TV, credit cards, and online shopping. With this site, you’ll find yourself a little less alone in the world.
