The Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) is a state agency that works to ensure labor laws are followed and workers’ rights in the State are protected. It offers services related to employment law compliance, unemployment insurance claims processing, wage payment enforcement, workplace safety inspections/consultations, apprenticeship programs registration & monitoring , occupational licensing regulation & enforcement , workforce development initiatives such as training grants or tax credits for businesses hiring new employees; all available to employers, employees job seekers retirees and other members of the public. KDOL also administers several federal-state partnerships including Trade Adjustment Assistance program which provides reemployment assistance through career counseling and retraining opportunities for individuals who have lost their jobs due to foreign trade.
